How to Clean a Marble Tabletop?

How to Clean a Marble Tabletop?

Doing it the Right Way
Do not scrub the marble surface regularly with the solution and poultice recipes given above. The marble will lose its shine and luster.
Always use mats on the dinner table when you know you have guests coming. Make use of coasters to place glasses if you plan to offer beverages. This will avoid the rings that are formed when glasses are placed on the table.
Preferably, clean up the surface immediately if it sustains any marks or stains. Allowing the stain to stay, may give it a chance to develop into a tougher one that may fade eventually, but leave a mark behind.
Avoid air-drying the marble surface as it may make the surface look dull. Dry the top with a soft cloth with circular motions.
Do not use chemicals or spark any flammable objects on the surface.
Do not leave acidic substances on the surface for too long as doing so may etch the surface.
Maintaining the table is easy and that would increase its lifespan. It is suggested to keep acidic items away, as they may leave stains which are difficult to be removed. The most common items we use regularly and could add to the stains are tomatoes, salad dressings, ketchup, and wine. So ensure that you wipe off the stain immediately if the kids have dropped some ketchup while being playful or if you have dropped some wine after having too many glasses.
