How to Steam-Clean your Furniture?
You will need a steam cleaner, steam cleaning solution, a vacuum cleaner, manufacturer’s cleaning solution, a cloth, steam cleaner user’s guide, etc. in order to steam clean upholstered furniture.
Firstly, you need to clean / vacuum the furniture thoroughly before going for steam cleaning.
Now you can make use of the manufacturer’s or recommended cleaning products or solution to clean the upholstery and any stains on it. You need to follow the procedure mentioned in the guide of using this cleaning solution.
After the furniture is dried, you can start with your steam cleaner. Add water and steam cleaning solution in measures mentioned in the user’s guide. You can also check the attachments that you can use for the kind of upholstery that you are about to clean.
Once you are done with the attachments, you can start the cleaning process. Steam cleaning should be done in long and regular strokes. It is advisable to go for a single section of furniture at a time, clean it completely and only then proceed for the next.
Detachable pieces of furniture, cushions, etc. should be detached and clean individually from all sides.
If there are heavily stained areas, you can repeat the process of steam cleaning once you are done with the entire cleaning.
You can either let your furniture dry naturally (which will definitely take a longer time) or dry it using a wet/dry vacuum (which will take only a few minutes). The wet/dry vacuum cleaning should also be done in long and regular strokes.
